Given the developer's interest in making another full-length title, and following the release of The Old Blood DLC prequel, it's not entirely out of the question that players may soon see the further adventures of grizzled war veteran "B.J." Blakowicz and the continuation of the Wolfenstein canon.

Echoing such kind reception, the latest word from a certain voice actor has it that a sequel may be in the works with plenty to entice players to return to the revisionist history of the game.Īccording to Polygon, Alicja Bachleda-Curuś (who portrayed Anya Oliwa, the chief love interest to protagonist William "B.J." Blazkowicz) stated on a Polish television network: " Now we're working on a second one, and it will take roughly two years," meaning players might be treated to a sequel in 2017. While publisher Bethesda Softworks hasn't announced any plans for such a project as of yet, MachineGames has previously expressed interest in making another title. New Order was largely well received by critics and players alike, with many fans feeling that the combat and narrative on display was a step forward for the franchise. This time, however, the game was set in an alternate 1960s Europe ruled over by the Third Reich, after Germany won World War II. Pulling from the series' fanciful reinvention and appropriation of World War II fact, fiction, and adapted history, developer MachineGames imagined a whole new world for players familiar with past entries in the Nazi war saga. Wolfenstein: The New Order marked the seventh entry in the titular franchise when it was released in May 2014, and was a featured launch title for next-gen systems PlayStation 4 and XBox One.
